10:50: Alex Toth Panel- Alex Toth was truly an artist who could do it all. For five decades, Toth drew for every genre imaginable: superhero, war, romance, horror and western. Besides being a celebrated comics artist, Toth was a storyboard artist and designer for Hanna-Barbera and created for them such memorable characters as The Herculoids, Dino Boy, The Galaxy Trio, Birdman and Space Ghost. Toth also did character designs for the 1967 Fantastic Four and later worked on The Super Friends. Join John Hitchcock, the owner of Parts Unknown and the author of Dear John: The Alex Toth Doodle Book, as he leads a panel discussion on the life and times of this industry giant.
12:00: Dusk Series Panel: Basic Indie Film Fight Choreography- Learn some amazing trade secrets that will assist you in creating the best and safest fights sequences, both hand to hand and with prop weapons, as the Dusk Series cast demonstrates all the do’s and don’ts of the physical and camera effects required for your action scenes.
1:10: Ranking The Movie Batmen- Join Back Issue and RetroFan editor Michael Eury as he leads a discussion analyzing the big-screen Caped Crusaders, from 1943’s Lewis Wilson to 2021’s Robert Pattison. We’ll go one-by-one with a quick chat about each actor in the role, then allow the audience to vote (by applause) for their favorite movie Batman.
2:20: Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Cosplay (But Were Afraid To Ask)- Are you interested in cosplay? Do you like the idea of becoming your favorite comic book character? Are you nervous as heck though because even though it feels right, you don’t know if you should do it? This is the panel where all your questions get answered! Talk to seasoned cosplayers about this growing part of fandom and let them reassure you it is for everybody!
3:30: Vic Carrabotta Q&A- Vic Carrabotta was one of the leading artists at Atlas, the forerunner of Marvel Comics, in the 1950’s. While at the company, he worked on such horror and science fiction titles as Journey Into Mystery, Marvel Tales and Strange Tales and westerns like Apache Kid, Kid Colt: Outlaw and Two-Gun Kid. Join comics writer and pop culture historian Dan Johnson as he discusses Vic’s career and gets the inside story about the early days of one of comics’ major publishers.

11:00: Will Eisner Panel- He has been called the O. Henry of comics. Will Eisner was one of the greatest artists and storytellers of the comic book medium. During the Golden Age of Comics, he was part of the Eisner & Iger partnership that created various features for such fledgling publishers as Fox Comics and Quality Comics. He was the creator of The Spirit, a character that appeared in Sunday supplements in newspapers all around the country from 1940 until 1952. Most importantly, he was the man who created the graphic novel and showed the industry that the medium of comics could tell more mature stories with books like A Contract with God and Other Tenement Stories, The Building, The Dreamer and A Life Force. Join John Hitchcock as he leads a panel discussion about the life and times of this legend of the industry.
12:10: Cosplay And The Battle Against A Toxic Community- Join our panel of seasoned cosplayers as they talk about how cosplay is growing in popularity and the need to keep the community heathy and confront the negative aspects of the hobby. Topics covered will be dealing with costume shaming, protecting yourself and others from people who want to exploit you for personal gain and protecting other cosplayers who are being stalked or harassed at conventions. Also discussed will be battling the worst critic of them all: yourself.
1:20- Horror: A Family Affair- Between the two of them, father and daughter Josh and Kaylie Turner have racked up some impressive resume credits. Some would say scary impressive. They have worked together on The Walking Dead while Josh has appeared in The Vampire Diaries and The Originals and Kaylie has appeared in Stranger Things and Goosebumps 2. Come join Dan Johnson as he interviews the Turners in a Q&A that we promise to keep within the family.
1:45PM—CHARLOTTE COMICON OFFICIAL GROUP PHOTO. Our official photographers will take our traditional cosplay photos on the grand staircase in the lobby of the hotel. Feel free to join in and to take your own photos, but please be mindful to stay behind our photographers so that they can get the shots they need. COSTUME CONTEST—Registration for all age divisions located in the Cosplay Room begins at 11:30am on Sunday and ends promptly at 1:30pm NO EXCEPTIONS. Kids, Teens, Adult-Am, and Honorable Mentions are prejudged during registration. Pro-Division entries will be judged separately. Complete rules and contest details can be found on our website and will be provided in a printed format in the cosplay room upon request throughout the weekend. Pro-Division contestants should be back from the group photo and prepared to lineup in the cosplay room by 2:15PM. Contest Award Presentation will begin at 2:30pm. Location: Main Stage.
